My Juilliard is the name of the intranet that serves The Juilliard School’s nearly 900 students and 600 employees, but an outdated design and non-intuitive navigation did little to connect and inform its audiences.

The highest-level objective for the client was to provide members easy access to role-based information of primary interest to its internal audience. Of secondary importance to the effective information architecture and ease of use for Juilliard, was a visually compelling yet minimalist design that borrowed from the look of the as-being-built, public facing site.

By deploying Digital Echidna’s purpose-built industry-specific intranet product, EchidNET, all of Juilliard’s goals were met. This social collaboration tool comes out-of-the-box with all the features needed in an intranet including, but not limited to: single sign-on (SSO) authentication, events calendar, forms creation and distribution methods, workflow and management of access rights and at a total cost of ownership much lower than comparable solutions.

EchidNET was customized to complement the new look of the public site and then configured to provide one-click access to Juilliard’s other SSO web applications — such as email, LMS, library databases, WebAdvisor, and various campus web applications. The site conforms to WCAG 2.0 AA and is responsive, working equally well on desktop, tablet, and mobile browsers.
