Interactive websites. Social websites. Websites as a communication tool. More and more we’re hearing these phrases and wondering “what do they mean?”
An interactive or social website is a website that promotes two-way communication between you and your visitors, as well as a website that keeps your visitors coming back.
Think of your website as a communication tool used as a medium to interact with your users and a way to give up-to date information to your visitors.
A few ways you can do this are by:
- Creating a blog and leaving the comments turned on – you can set up notifications so when someone posts on your blog you can review the post and reply back.
- Linking to your Twitter or Facebook account – or better yet, having your most recent Tweet or Facebook promote to your homepage. This is a simple way for your website to consistently have new and up to date content.
- Having dynamic news and events information on your homepage.
Interacting with your users can be easy. Through social media, news & events and blogs your website can turn from a static informational website to a dynamic and interactive one. Whether you're trying to increase online donations, event attendees or traffic to your site - providing up to date content and a way to communicate is sure to do the trick!
